Sam Winston is one of those artist whose work is difficult to file away in just one category due to the shear range of the stuff. His “letter art”, spanning a chunk of art types from sculptures to drawings and books, is a result of his exploration of language and our understanding of words in their roles as messengers and informers.

Canadian Stefan Thompson has a beautifully vivid, surreal and sketchy style of painting and drawing, with his work often focusing on animals and nature.
As well as his unique style, Stefan Thompson is relatively unique in that he has a high level awareness of the state of the environment being a environmental science student at Carleton University. This awareness is evident in his approach to art, his work often being done using earth paints which are non-toxic, reducing his effects on the environment.

Stumbled upon today, Book is a project by 4 artists: Oliver Jeffers, Rory Jeffers, Mac Premo, and Duke Riley, who all contributed art to a sketchbook over a time period of 36 weeks. The unusual thing about this project is that, by the end, the sketchbook had travelled over 60,000 miles between Brooklyn and Belfast where the pairs of artists were based.
The book in itself is an eclectic mix of styles, with each artist reacting to the previous artists work, as they swapped who contributed to the book every Wednesday, allowing only 5 days of work before sending the sketchbook off again.

Evening Tweed is a collective of three designers and one illustrator: Jez Burrows, Owen Gildersleeve, Sarah King and Tom Rowe. In itself, the website is worthy of praise for its minimalistic design, but the designers themselves are impressive, cultivating a wide range of styles and ‘wavelengths’.
