While I make a real effort to not deviate from the topics of art and music, I thought that Skimmer from the guys over at Fallon was too good to be overlooked.
Skimmer is a basic app which mashes up your social website feeds churning them out as nice succinct experpts in a nice slick, minimalistic interface where you have the choice to see more or less. Currently, it works with Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Facebook and Blogspot, with the added bonus of allowing you to upload your work to YouTube and Flickr from within the app.
Worth at least a glance especially as it works on any computer

The picture above may look like a space nebula but actually it’s a visualization by a program called Bitalizer which was authored by Brian Reavis. Using some incredible coding genius, Bitalizer creates visualization of all the millions of little 1′s and 0′s that make up a program, image or any computer file, with every line, kink, node and colour representing a different characteristic within the code such as a 1 bending the line down and a 0 bending the line down. As a nice little bonus, the website lets you upload files to be interpreted and visualized and you can rummage through others’ visualizations.
There is a video of Bitalizer at work after the break.

Kevin Andersson works with graphic illustration, which is evident by his large repetoire of different desktops and icons which can be downloaded from his website. His slick and ‘mac-like’ style, though overdone at the moment, is refreshing in his work.
